What About Outpatient Services?

Newhaven Recovery Center offers outpatient counseling, both as an alternative to residential treatment and as a supplement to it. Clients assessed as appropriate may complete primary treatment goals as an outpatient, allowing them to maintain jobs and residence in the community. Others who have already completed primary treatment in a residential program find outpatient counseling to be an effective tool in assisting them to develop and maintain an effective recovery program.

Outreach / Aftercare Services

Alcohol and Drug Services offers a 2 year Aftercare program for anyone who has successfully completed primary treatment. Clients have the opportunity to discuss issues pertaining to their sobriety in a supportive and confidential therapeutic environment. Aftercare counselors provide assessments to various courts to assist them with their rulings in cases in which alcohol and/or other drug use is a significant factor. These staff are available to provide information about treatment options to other agencies, healthcare providers, courts, law enforcement and the community at large.

Prevention

Prevention Specialists work school districts in the region, teaching students, faculty and parents about the dangers of alcohol, drug and tobacco use by young people within our communities. Special presentations are given at area universities, colleges and career schools. We sponsor Red Ribbon Week every year; and we are developing "Prevention Clubs" within the school systems, providing an opportunity to learn about the dangers of alcohol, drug and tobacco use in a fun, relaxed and educational setting.
